Chiemsee Fraueninsel results


We started with the first Alpen Cup in Bavaria at Chiemsee. The sailing club WVF is located on the small island Freaueninsel, really a very nice place. We were 29 Acat and 13 Tornado but were don’t lucky with the weather. Saturday was cloudy and no wind at all and Sunday was windy (6-7 knots) but rained all the day. We sailed N.4 races: Reinhard Egner was really fast, specially downwind, he had to fight against Wolfgang Klampfer, second at the end, that was very constant each race. Giovanni Calabria was second the first two races but in second two he lost the concentration (he forgot the dry suit at home and with the rain and the cold temperature was really hard to finish the races...). I’m happy for the result of this first Alpen Cup race, it’s a pity that a so bad weather convinced many sailors (we calculated at least 15 guys) to stay at home. The second race will be the Swiss Championship in Ascona at 9-11 june: we aspect at least 45 sailors (ten people from Italy, and not from the Alpen Cup countries, but also from Holland). It will be a very high level regatta !
